Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / Rasul Safarov , the judge of the Azerbaijani Appeal Court, stated that the preliminary hearing on journalists appeal, accused with insulting statements towards the Islam religion and Prophet Mohammad, was scheduled for the 22nd of June.
Samir Sadatoglu and Rafi Tagi were arrested in November 2006, and were proved guilty in compliance with Article 283 (spread of race, national and religion hostility) of the Criminal Code.
In compliance with the decision of the Yasamal District Court on the 4th of May Sadatoglu was sentenced to four years and Tagi to three years of imprisonment.
