(showbizspy.com ) - Owen Wilson's lawyer has publicly denied that drugs had anything to do with the former's suicide attempt.
A drug overdose wasn't to blame, Wilson's lawyer stresses, as reports emerge that the 'Wedding Crasher' star slit his wrists.
The police have confirmed that they received a call from Owen Wilson, and have also confirmed it was an "attempted suicide".
"In reaching this decision the City believes that in many instances no person should have to worry about whether placing a call for emergency assistance will automatically make his or her medical request open to the public," said the City's Attorney's Office.
Reports speculate that Wilson's breakup with actress Kate Hudson might have been the cause of the suicide attempt. The couple broke up earlier this year and Hudson is currently dating Dax Shepard. Wilson has only released a statement asking for "privacy to heal."
