Determination of a systematic approach to the formation of tariffs for transportation is one of the priority tasks within the framework of the ITC TRACECA, a TRACECA representative told Trend.
It is planned to develop approaches to determining competitive tariffs in the format of a working group, the message reads.
The main goal is to implement the provisions of the Technical Appendix to the main agreement on international rail transport in terms of determining preferential terms and tariffs, TRACECA said.
“As part of TRACECA's activities on the development of the Concept for the Development of Container Transportation until 2030, the working group brought together representatives of state transport authorities, maritime and railway administrations of the countries participating in the main multilateral agreement (MLA) TRACECA,” said the representative.
According to Secretary General of the IGC TRACECA Asset Asavbayev, ensuring competitive advantages on the route of the ITC TRACECA will be possible if there are coordinated actions regarding the application of preferential tariffs and rates, which will positively affect the entire multimodal chain.
“The methodology provides for the calculation of tariffs for the cargo transportation carried out in large-capacity universal containers on the railways of the OIC member countries, and also determines the maximum values for tariffs used in seaports and sea carriers,” TRACECA said.
