BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 3. Azerbaijan exported hazelnuts worth $80.3 million from January through October 2022, an increase of $4.7 million, or 6.2 percent, compared to the same period last year, Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CAERC) told Trend.
However, Azerbaijan exported $9.6 million worth of hazelnuts in October this year, which is $10.1 million, or 2.05 times, less than during the same month of 2021.
As the Association of Hazelnut Producers and Exporters has previously reported, in the second half of 2022, Azerbaijani hazelnut exporters intend to focus on the European market.
"About 75 percent of the total global volume of hazelnuts is processed on the European market, and therefore we intend to focus on it," the association said.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan's exports from January through October 2022 totaled $ 34.7 billion, including non-oil exports ($2.4 billion), which is 16.2 percent higher than in the same period of 2021.
