BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 2. A total of 11,399 cubic meters of lumber have been exported from Russia's Perm Region to Azerbaijan since the beginning of 2023, Trend reports citing the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor).
According to the Rosselkhoznadzor, a total of 104 phytosanitary certificates have been issued for these supplies.
"All timber products have passed through laboratory control in the Perm branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution All-Russian Plant Quarantine Center. Laboratory examination confirmed the absence of quarantine pests," said the statement.
Azerbaijan has reduced purchases of Russian lumber by almost a quarter - to 0.602 million cubic meters.
Azerbaijan's industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs produced products worth 86 billion manat ($50.5 billion) in 2022, which is 1.1 percent less than in 2021. The growth in the production of lumber and lumber products amounted to 13.4 percent.
