BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 14. Azerbaijan’s fixed capital investments amounted to 1.09 billion manat ($640.58 million) in January 2023, increasing by 61.2 percent against the same period of 2022, Trend reports referring to Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee.

In the reporting period, investments in the oil sector dropped by 8.8 percent, while investments in the non-oil sector increased 2.5 times year over year.

Meanwhile, 46.4 percent (506.2 million manat or $297.4 million) of investments fell in the manufacturing sector, 48.4 percent (529 million manat or $310.8 million) – in the service sector, 5.2 percent (56.5 million manat or $33.2 million) – on the construction of residential buildings, and 74.4 percent (812.1 million manat or $477.2 million) – on internal funds.

A total of 844.2 million manat, $496 million (77.3 percent of fixed capital investments) have been spent on construction and installation work.

Out of the total fixed capital investments, enterprises, and organizations made up 41.2 percent, budgetary funds – 47.7 percent, other funds – 2.2 percent, personal funds of the population – six percent, and bank loans – 2.9 percent.

In 2022, fixed capital investments settled at 18.27 billion manat ($10.7 billion), which was 5.5 percent more than in 2021.
