BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. The Turkish ports handled over 2.6 million tons of cargo from Spain via the local ports, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, a total of 230,508 tons of cargo were transported via the Turkish ports from Spain by the ships flying the Turkish flag, while the ships flying the flags of the other countries carried 2.4 million tons of cargo.
During the reporting period, the ships flying the Spanish flag carried 3,744 tons of cargo through the ports of Türkiye. Moreover, from January through March 2023, some 986,122 tons of transit cargo were transported from Spain via Turkish ports.
A total of 31.9 million tons of cargo were handled by the Turkish ports in March 2023.
During the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag transported 2.3 million tons of cargo through the local ports.
"The cargo transshipment by the ships flying the flags of other countries equaled 29.6 million tons," said the statement.
In addition, the Turkish ports handled over 6 million tons of transit cargo in March 2023.
The Turkish ports received 91.5 million tons of cargo from January through March 2023.
Moreover, from January through March 2023, the ships flying the Turkish flag carried 6.4 tons of cargo, whereas the ships flying the flags of other countries transported 85.08 million tons.
In addition, the Turkish ports handled 18.3 million tons of transit cargo from January through March 2023.
