BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. The number of hotel accommodations in Azerbaijan amounted to 549,200 from January through March 2023, which is 26.2 percent higher than in the same period last year, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.

According to the committee, 55.3 percent of overnight stays were at hotels in Baku, 4.6 percent – Gabala, 4.9 percent - Khachmaz, five percent - Guba, 9.6 percent – Gusar, 3.1 percent - Shabran, 2.9 percent – Lankaran, 3.7 percent - Naftalan, 3.4 percent - Nakhchivan, 1.2 percent - Mingachevir, 1.1 percent - Ismayilli and Ganja, 0.9 percent - Shamakhi and Shusha, 0.7 percent - Sheki, 0.6 percent - Gakh and 5.9 percent - hotels in other cities and districts of Azerbaijan.

The total number of overnight hotel stays in Azerbaijan by foreigners and stateless people climbed by 79.7 percent compared to the same period, totaling 309,200, or 56.3 percent of all hotel stays in the country.

During the reporting period, 80.1 percent of overnight hotel stays by foreigners and stateless persons fell on hotels in Baku, 3.2 percent in Gabala, 1.8 percent in Guba, 8.9 percent in Gusar, 3.5 percent in Naftalan, 0.3 percent in Shabran, 0.4 percent in Nakhchivan, 1.8 percent were in hotels in other cities and districts of Azerbaijan.

Hotel revenues in Azerbaijan increased by 42.8 percent from January through March 2023 compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 85.2 million manat ($50 million).

The number of hotel accommodations in Azerbaijan amounted to 2.6 million ($1.5 million), and hotel revenues amounted to 355.3 million manat ($208.9 million) in 2022.
