Azerbaijan sees uptick in cost of paid services to population for 1Q2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. The cost of paid services provided to the population in Baku increased by 13.3 percent to 1.6 billion manat ($941 million) from January through March 2023, compared to the same figure in 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Baku City Statistics Department under the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.

According to the committee, during the specified period, legal entities provided services to the population of the capital for 1.25 billion manat ($735 million), which reached 76.3 percent of the total cost of rendered services.

At the same time, the cost of paid services provided to the population in Baku increased by 9.1 percent compared to 2021 and totaled 5.7 billion manat ($3.3 billion).

The volume of trade turnover in the capital in 2022 grew by 5 percent to 30.8 billion manat ($18.1 billion) year-on-year.

Sales in the Baku retail chain of food, beverages, and tobacco products in the reporting period rose by 16.9 percent up to 18.6 billion manat ($10.9 billion) year-on-year.

According to the committee, in 2022 the cost of paid services provided to the population in Azerbaijan increased by 8 percent to 9.2 billion manat ($5.4 billion) compared to the previous year.
