BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11. The volume of trade turnover in Baku from January through April 2024 increased by 4.4 percent compared to the figure in 2023 and amounted to 9.9 billion manat ($5.8 billion), Trend reports.
According to the Baku City Statistics Department, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco products in Baku's trade network grew by 2.2 percent in the reporting period compared to the same period in 2023 to 5.5 billion manat ($3.2 billion).
Furthermore, sales of non-food products grew by 7.3 percent to 4.3 billion manat ($2.5 billion).
Based on the Department's data, 38.3 percent of the sold products came from enterprises with the status of legal entities, 48.5 percent from trade objects belonging to individual entrepreneurs, and 13.2 percent from the capital markets.
To note, the volume of trade turnover in Baku in 2023 increased by 7.6 percent compared to the figure in 2022 and amounted to 35.5 billion manat ($20.8 billion).
