BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 11. Azerbaijan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have discussed a seawater desalination project, the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan told Trend.
According to the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the discussions took place within the framework of a meeting between Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and the EBRD's new Executive Director for Türkiye and South Caucasus Elisabetta Falcetti.
Azerbaijan's successful relations with the EBRD in various directions were emphasized at the meeting. It was noted that there are ample opportunities for cooperation in the direction of realization of the set development goals.
The next steps for implementing energy sector priority projects, including those involving renewable and alternative energy, private sector development, infrastructure, and other areas, were reviewed with the Bank in this context.
Furthermore, an exchange of views was held on issues related to the EBRD's participation in public-private partnership projects in Azerbaijan, including the seawater desalination project, as well as the participation of EBRD experts in the framework of COP29.
