Uzbekistan plans massive infrastructure construction in Tashkent

Large-scale construction work is planned in Tashkent city in Uzbekistan, and 20.8 billion soums ($21.7 million) will be allocated from the local budget for the plan, Trend reports with the reference to National News Agency of Uzbekistan.

It is planned to build 100 playgrounds, two parking lots, sidewalks, as well as repair irrigation systems in the territories adjacent to the apartment buildings, the report said.

At present, 5001 elevators operate in 1564 apartment buildings of the capital. Of these, 3,343 elevators need to be substituted. For the last four years 572 elevators have been replaced.

In 2020 it is planned to renovate 697 elevators. The plan is to annually replace 700 elevators, in the next five years in multi-storey buildings of the capital.

In the coming year, the level of provision of the capital's population with drinking water will reach 100 percent. This will happen after almost 18,000 running meters of water pipelines will be laid in Bektemir district and over 6,800 residents will have access to centralized water supply.

It is also planned to increase the capacity of Bozsu and Salar water treatment plants by 200,000 cubic meters per day.

Also, this year 1,047,000 square meters of roads will be repaired, as the report said.
