BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 6. The Bank of Maskan Iran has so far disbursed 1.01 quadrillion rials (about $24.1 billion) to construction companies under the National Housing Action Plan since the current government in Iran took office (August 2021), Director of the bank Abbas Hosseini said, Trend reports.
Hosseini also stated that of these funds, 577 trillion rials (about $13.7 billion) were paid to companies as loans, and 437 trillion rials (about $10.4 billion) were paid on the basis of citizens' deposits.
The director added that in total, 1,093,151 people were registered at the Maskan Bank to receive loans under the National Housing Action Plan.
According to him, contracts for the construction of 295,104 apartment buildings have been signed so far within the framework of the National Housing Action Plan.
The Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development is implementing the National Housing Action Plan in the country. As a part of the plan, heads of households must be registered and have 300 million rials (about $7.140) in deposits in the Maskan Bank.
The current government of Iran has planned to provide 4 million apartments in the country within the framework of the National Housing Action Plan.
According to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, by the middle of 2022, the area for the construction of 2.8 million apartment buildings will have been allocated.
