Tariff Increase for Exported Russian Grain not to Affect Bread Price in Azerbaijan: Azerbaijani Expert

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend U.Ismaylova / The decision of the Russian Government to increase prices for the seasonal export tariffs for grain will not affect the internal market of Azerbaijan, said the Head of Center for Economic Searches, Gubad Ibadoglu, on 11 October. Percentage price increase for bread has been observed in the Country over the recent two months. The average price for bread increased from AZN 0.20 to AZN 0.30. The weight of the bread decreased from 0.5kg to 0.35 kg.

According to Ibadoglu, taking into consideration that the key exporter partner of Azerbaijan in purchasing grain is Kazakhstan, ten-percent increase of the tariffs for the exported Russian grain will not affect the bread prices in Azerbaijan.

The common grain demand in Azerbaijan per year makes up 3mln tons, with 1mln t import from Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
