Ismaylova / The Azerbaijani Labour and Social Protection Ministry has submitted a set of proposals to the government to toughen sanctions against employers who violate the rights of workers, Fizuli Alakparov, the Azerbaijani Labour and Social Protection Minister, said on 19 October.
"The Ministry will apply serious sanctions against such employers," Alakparov said.
Sanctions would also be applied against employers who use employ illegal immigrants. About 1,000 immigrants from the Philippines work and reside in Azerbaijan.
About 25,000 illegal immigrants from different countries work and reside in Azerbaijan, the Labour Ministry reported.
