Islamic Development Corporation Open for Cooperation with Azerbaijani Enterprises

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / The Islamic Development Corporation (IDC) is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijani enterprises, the Executive Director and the General Manager of IDC Khalid Al-Abudi said on 30 November.

According to Al-Abudi, when the organization was launching its activities in Azerbaijan in 2003, it was focusing on the companies engaged in small-scale and middle-scale entrepreneurship, as they play an important part in the economy of the country.

"In future we also plan to cooperate with large companies in Azerbaijan," he said.

Up to day, IDC allocated credits to Azerbaijan in the sum of $17mln for development of small-scale and middle-scale entrepreneurship. IDC intends to cooperate with the companies not only through allocation of credits, but also directly.

Along with Bank Standard, IDC plans to allot credits to several other banks. Al-Abudi did not divulge their names pledging the negotiations have not yet been completed.
