International Transporting Development Demand Upgrade of Leasing and Tax Systems in Azerbaijan

I.Khalilova / The Azerbaijani International Automobile Transporting Association (AIATA) considers inefficient the current development rate of transport system in the country because of expensive vehicles, Ramiz Akhundov, Deputy Secretary General of AIATA, stated.

Meanwhile, AIATA expands its staff. In 1996, the company united five members, and today, it includes 40 members.

"Private transport companies face difficulties by acquiring vehicles for $200,000. For this purpose there is need to upgrade the leasing and tax systems in the country," Akhundov stated.

AIATA provides international automobile transporters operating in Azerbaijan with CORNET TIR. CORNET TIR provides free transit through the custom points.

The official rate at 26 April is 0,8289 AZN/USD.
