Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 May / corr. Trend I. Khalilova/ The new head of the Visa International regional office in CIS member states will visit Azerbaijan in June, said Elmar Sadigov, the director general of Azericard processing center, totally owned by the International Bank of Azerbaijan (MBA).
Visa has undergone structural changes in that the regional office has been moved to Ukraine and Moscow hosts an office which serves only Russia.
The new projects to be launched by Visa are expected to be discussed within the visit. The Virtual Electronic Commerce project on service payments and purchases via the internet will be carried out soon.
The "Card-Card" system will also be launched which will enable money to be transferred from one card to any other card across the world.
Azericard has put into circulation up to 3.5mln cards, with Visa cards accounting for the majority of them. The largest project on payment of pensions via cards has been realized through the Visa system. Azericard serves 30 banks out of the 46 that are operating in the country through the processing center.
The official exchange rate makes up 0,828 AZN/USD for 1 May.
