Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Jan. 19/ Trend E. Hasanov/ On Jan. 19 a bank delegation arrived in Ashgabat, capital of Turkmenistan, to prepare the Ashgabat summit of the Council of Managers of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) scheduled for June 2-3, 2009, the official Turkmen source said.
The delegation was headed by acting secretary Hassan Al-Bab who is expected to be received by the government, large banks and the Foreign Ministry of the country. In November such a delegation arrived in Ashgabat. Turkmenistan's President received head of IDB Ahmed Mohammad Ali who noted that "Ashgabat meeting will open new opportunities to attract huge foreign investments in Turkmenistan, further integration of the country in financial - economic relations, as well as to further strengthen its interaction with the Organization of the Islamic Conference member countries".
The IDB summit will be held in Ashgabat at the initiative of Turkmenistan. In his decree, Berdimuhamedov motivated "purposes of further development of financial - economic relations in the country, attraction of foreign investments and strengthening of interaction with the Organization of the Islamic Conference member countries".
