A wine plant will open in Sheki, head of the plant Abdulali Akhundov said on Feb. 17.
"Modern Italian equipment worth 4.9 million manat has already been installed," he said.
The plant will produce 2,000 tons of wine yearly.
Investments in the plant total 7 million euro. The plant composes an administrative building, shop and laboratory. Forty people will be employed at the plant.
The plant's production capacity will be increased to an annual 5,000 tons in the future.
The plant will use grapes grown in private Sheki households.
There are over 300 hectares of vineyards in Sheki.
Sheki is located 352 kilometers outside Baku.
