The French Bouygues company has present to the Turkmen government a project to reconstruct and develop the international airport in Ashgabat, an official Turkmen source said.
President of the Bouygues Group Martin Bouygues held a video presentation. The airport will transport 15 million passengers annually. Implementation of the draft will take place through four phases that will not affect the schedule of the existing airport, built in the nineties.
"Rehabilitation will make the air harbor the largest transport hub in the region, company's employees said. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov made the state order given the growing international cooperation. "The future air gates of the country are a strategic, knowledge-object, which should be erected with all the modern requirements, emerging technologies, international standards and security measures," Berdymuhamedov said.
Presently, the Ashgabat airport operates on the basis of the French aeronautical equipment Thomson brand and can take heavy liners. Regular flights are implemented from Ashgabat to Azerbaijan, Britain, Germany, Russia, Turkey, China, Iran, Pakistan, India and the United Arab Emirates. Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan were added to the list.
Bouygues presented the draft of the fashionable hotel Oguzkent, presidential complex, buildings of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mayor's Office, Ministry of Communications, Polytechnic Institute, University of state corporation Turkmenhaly (Turkmenkover).
The French concern has implemented numerous projects in the territory of Turkmenistan worth two billion dollars.
