In April, VAT will be applied to grain imports in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Ismat Abasov said on Feb. 27.
"It is time to annul the government's decision," Abasov said.
He added that annulling the decision will stimulate local grain production in Azerbaijan.
Grain production increased by 500,000 tons in 2008, the minister said. It
Abasov said Azerbaijan will cover its grain needs via local production in the future.
