The delegation of the Swiss Federal Finance Administration visited Uzbekistan.
The Finance Ministry of Uzbekistan reported to Trend that the delegation is headed by the Director of the Swiss Federal Finance Administration Peter Sigentaler. An agreement was signed between Uzbekistan and Switzerland to issue grant to support agricultural enterprises.
According to the representation of the Swiss Cooperation Office, the sum of grant will be in the amount of 3,265 million Swiss francs. This sum will be used to finance the strengthening of Uzbek Water Users Associations, as well as to improve the irrigation and drainage technologies in Uzbekistan.
The Swiss Office for Cooperation will implement the project. The Agency for the Restructuring of Agricultural Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Uzbekistan and the World Bank will also support the project.
