Low inflow of tourists to Azerbaijan from the countries with swine flu cases secures the country against swine flu. But preventive measures are being taken, Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev said.
Mexico and Cuba suffer from the swine flu outbreak most of all and the disease is spreading to Europe who is forced to take measures to prevent this disease," the minister said.
He said all relevant state structures in Azerbaijan are instructed to undertake preventive measures to tighten control over health care and no carrier of swine flue has entered Azerbaijan.
Monitoring over swine flu conducted by the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture also did not reveal A/H1N1 virus in the country.
Monitoring was carried out in pig farms. About 388 blood samples have been collected for laboratory tests. None of them has revealed the virus," the State Veterinary Service said.
There are pig farms in Gabala, Zagatala, Shaki and Balakan regions, Ganja City and in suburbs of Baku.
Azerbaijan has temporarily banned the import of cattle products from America and Europe.
