Heads of Azerbaijani, Belarus customs authorities sign protocol

The 49th meeting of the Council of the Heads of Customs Authorities of the CIS member states was held in Gabala in Azerbaijan on June 11, Azerbaijani State Customs Service said.  

The meeting was attended by the heads of customs authorities of Azerbaijan, Russia, Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan, as well as a representative of the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting mainly focused on a report by the council's secretariat on the execution of decisions adopted during the 48 sessions.

The heads of customs bodies also discussed the results of  exchange of primary information of customs of Moldova and Ukraine, an international inventory - legal frameworks of the Council and a plan to implement the items of the Concept on Development of Skilled Workers till 2011 on the basis of the Russian Customs Academy.

The meeting also focused on development of a special protocol on mutual rules when comparing statistics on mutual trade relations, possibility of establishing a unified information system for the Council member states and amendments to the protocol on cooperation of individual security of the CIS customs authorities.

During the meeting, the heads of customs services of Azerbaijan and Belarus signed a protocol on the implementation of agreements on mutual cooperation and mutual assistance, which was signed on November 5, 2004. Moldova and Belarus agreed to develop statistical data on mutual trade, as well as reciprocal rules of customs authorities of both countries. Moldova and Kazakhstan signed a protocol on exchange of information on goods that pass customs inspection.
