Prices on consumer goods, services keep on falling in Azerbaijan

Prices on foodstuffs and services fell 0.2 percent in May compared to April and increased 4.9 percent compared to January-May 2008, the State Statistics Committee said.

Prices on foodstuffs fell 0.4 percent, non-foods 0.3 percent and service tariffs remained the same.

Compared to January-may 2008, prices on foodstuffs increased 3.8 percent, non-foods 6.4 percent and service tariffs 5.8 percent.

In May, basic index of consumer prices (fruits and vegetables) which are subject to seasonal changes and prices of which are regulated by the government, was 99.4 percent and 106.2 percent compared to the same period of 2008.
