Pars Khodro foresees 20% output rise

Iranian carmaker Pars Khodro Company has predicted to increase its production by 20 percent in the current (calendar) year compared to the year before, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported on Tuesday.

IRIB quoted the company''s managing director Masih Tafreshi as saying that by the end of the current year (March 19, 2010), 285,000 cars of different types will be produced by Pars Khodro Company, a 20 percent increase in comparison to last year.

The company saw a 19 percent rise in its output in the 5-month period ended August 22 year on year, Tafreshi noted.

"Pars Khodro plans to design a special car for the disabled," he said, adding that negotiations are underway with some of the world's leading car producing companies to manufacture hybrid cars in the company.
