Turkish large business ready to invest Turkmen sectors: Turkish president

Representatives of Turkish big business are ready to expand cooperation with Turkmenistan, including investments, Turkmen media reported with reference to the Turkish President Abdullah Gul's words on August 29.

The Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov was in Antalya on Abdullah Gul's invitation.  Berdimukhamedov took part in the investment forum.

Leaders of Turkish leading economic sectors, including Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and Minister of Culture and Tourism, as well as a number of leading companies gathered at this forum.

"We are proud with participation of Turkish companies in projects implemented in Turkmenistan in various sectors, including tourism", Gul said.

Berdimukhamedov said that there are all conditions for successful business development. National legislation is improved. Investment activity is stimulated. "Certainly, the richest natural resources, favorable geographic situation of Turkmenistan give broad opportunities for it," the president said.

Turkey and Turkmenistan have active turnover. If this index hits $855 million 200,000 in 2008, this figure reached $700 million within 6 months of 2009. about 536 companies operate in Turkmenistan in industry, construction, trade, transport with Turkish capital.
