The next meeting of the Business Council of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) is planned to be held in Baku on October 19, head of the Business Council, president of the Azerbaijani National Confederation of Entrepreneurs, Mammad Musayev, said on September 9.
(BSEC's Business Council was headed by the head of confederation of entrepreneurs due to the presidency of Azerbaijan in the BSEC.)
"The confederation also plans to hold a conference on the development of olive production in the region under the Azerbaijani presidency in the BSEC by late October within announcement of Baku as the center of Islamic culture", Musayev said.
BSEC's Business Council is an international non-governmental organization consisting of representatives of business circles of BSEC members-states.
The Black Sea Economic Cooperation was founded in Yalta on June 5, 1998, when the Presidents and heads of the governments of Albania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine signed the charter of the organization.
BSEC countries work over joint projects to unite national energy systems into the Black Sea ring, develop and integrate regional transport corridors into a global transportation system, laying of the lines of fiber-optic communication.
The program on environmental protection of the Black Sea region is under development.
Inter-connection between BSEC and the European Union is implemented.
France, Germany, Austria, Egypt, Israel, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Tunis, as well as the Energy Charter Conference (ECC) and the Black Sea club acquired status of observers in the BSEC.
BSEC has status of UN observer.
