Azerbaijani Railway CJSC's profit hits 4.2 million manat in January-July, head of CJSC Arif Askerov said in an interview with Republic newspaper.
Askerov said that Azerbaijani Railway CJSC's profit hits 80.2 million manat within seven months, 63.9 million manat fell on freight transportation, 16.3 million manat on passengers transportation.
About 76 million manat was spent for rendered services and operations conducted at railway. About 30.9 million manat of total expenses was spent for salaries of CJSC's employees. About 7.7 million manat was transferred to the social fund, 8 million manat - to the state budget in the form of different taxes but 15.6 million manat was spent to pay off debts for used electricity, fuel and water.
Azerbaijani Railway CJSC transported over 11.7 million tons of different freights in January-July. About 2 million tons or 49.7 percent fell on internal transportation of total freight transportation. About 60.9 percent fell on export and 80.6 percent on import. About 93.5 percent fell on transit transportation, Askerov said.
More than 7 million tons of freights were transported from stations of CJSC within seven months. Over 5.4 million tons fell on oil-loading freights of total freight transportation. A plan on oil-loading freights transportation was fulfilled for 77.5 percent.
Askerov said that more than 3 million passengers were transported from stations of CJSC in January-July. This figure is 145,000 more than the same index of 2008. About 3.2 million people were transported for this period. This figure is 3.8 percent more than the same index.
