Economic Development Minister and Azerbaijani Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) board of trustees head Shahin Mustafayev appointed a new acting president of the fund, a governmental source said today.
"Adil Mammadov was appointed AZPROMO deputy president. He is authorized to fulfill duties of the fund president," the government said.
Earlier he worked at the Azerbaijani State Oil Fund and served as head of the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative Secretariat.
Although AZPROMO President Rahim Huseynov has left his position, a new president has not yet been appointed.
Mammadov earlier worked at the Economic Development Ministry and headed the ministry's Antimonopoly Service. After leaving the state body, he worked as chairman of the Azerbaijani Marketing Society.
Farida Akhundova formerly worked as AZPROMO acting president.
AZPROMO ex-head Emil Majidov left the post voluntarily Jan. 10.
Majidov ran AZPROMO since 2004. The foundation was established by the Economic Development Ministry in 2003.
AZPROMO Director Anar Guliyev was appointed acting president of the fund.
