In early 2010, Ashgabat will host a meeting of the Russian-Turkmen economic cooperation commission, an official Turkmen source said.
The commission was established by the Turkmen and Russian presidents at their meeting in Moscow in October 2009.
During Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's recent Ashgabat visit, the sides noted that the commission has demonstrated its effectiveness, systematizing large-scale cooperation.
An inter-business council was also established to optimize bilateral cooperation.
In March 2009, Moscow hosted the Turkmen-Russia "New Quality of Cooperation: From Intensive Dialogue to Mutually Beneficial Projects" economic forum and "Turkmen Textiles, Carpets, Jewelery 2009" national exhibition.
