Net foreign assets of Central Bank of Azerbaijan increases 6.4 times

As of the end of 2009, the net foreign assets of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) totakled 4.2572 billion manat, which is 4.6 percent lower than November and 16.7 percent than the end of 2008, the CBA said.

Total international reserves of the Central Bank amounted to 4.3076 billion manat (with a decrease of 4.6 percent in December and 16.8 percent in 2009), and external borrowings - 50.3 million manat (with a decrease of 6 percent and 22 5 percent respectively).

Net domestic assets (NDA) amounted to 650.6 million manat, or 8.4 times higher than the figure for November and 6.4 times than December 2008. Within the NDA the domestic credits of CBA amounted to 883.5 million manat, an increase of 3.9 times in December and 4.1 times during the year.

As of the reporting period, the reserve money of CBA amounted to 4861 million manat, which is 12.1 percent higher than November, and 1.7 percent as of end of December 2008.
