Italy, Turkmenistan hold intergovernmental negotiations

Italian Plenipotentiary Foreign Minister, Special Envoy for Central Asia Paolo Serpi held meetings at the governmental level in Ashgabat, the official Turkmen source said

The negotiations were held in the Turkmen Foreign Affairs, Economy and Development, Communication and Trade Industry Ministries. The sides discussed implementation of agreements reached during Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's official visit to the Italy in November 2009

The sides underscored high interest of the two friendly countries in further intensifying mutually beneficial cooperation and establishing full cooperation meeting common interests.

Turkmenistan is one of the key suppliers of natural gas in the region, the EU is promoting the Nabucco project counting on the Caspian resources
