The policy that Azerbaijan has pursued over the past 15 years gives grounds to say that the country has created its own model of development and reform, Accounting Chamber of Azerbaijan Chairman Namig Nasrullayev said in an interview with the Khalh newspaper.

"The Azerbaijani model has several features and the country's operating research institutions should be based on precisely this model," he said.

The economic model's main task is to attract natural resources into business turnover.

"Today we have had great progress and the use of the hydrocarbon reserves of the Caspian Sea is a shining example. Azerbaijan's advantageous geographical position as a transit country is also an impetus for the country's overall development," he said.

He named successful land reforms in the country as another factor contributing to Azerbaijan's development.

The second feature of the Azerbaijani development model is a transition to a consistent liberal and democratic economy.

"In this regard Azerbaijan has many specific features that are important to consider.

Another issue relates to the integration of Azerbaijan into the world economic system," he said.
