An explosion on the Manas-Achi railway line in Dagestan has not affected the movement of trains between Azerbaijan and Russia, Azerbaijan Railways spokesman Nadir Azmammadov said today.

An explosion on the Manas-Achi railway line in Dagestan has not affected the movement of trains between Azerbaijan and Russia, Azerbaijan Railways spokesman Nadir Azmammadov said today.

He said the explosion occurred at 5:20 a.m. Moscow time. Meanwhile, the Baku-Tumen passenger train left Baku at 06:20 a.m. local time. The Baku-Moscow train will depart at 7:50 p.m. local time.

"The incident has not affected the dispatch of trains. No information has been provided on possible delays or any downtime in Dagestan," Azmammadov said.

The blast led to the delayed departure of the Baku-Kiev train at the Derbent Station, RIA Novosti reported. 

Twelve cars ran off the rails and seven were overturned in the blast. The Karabudahkentsk Police Department said the conductor and his assistant were injured.
