Azerbaijan, Baku, July 7/ Trend /

The work on preparing a detailed plan for implementation of e- audit at the Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry jointly with the Danish tax authority was launched in June, Azerbaijani Taxes Minister Fazil Mamedov told the Izvestia newspaper. A relevant tender was held through the European Union in May 2010, he added.

"The project realization is scheduled for two-years. We expect to start the process together with the Danish tax authority - the world leader in the field of e-audit in the fourth quarter of 2010. Above all, it is a huge savings in time and labor required for field tax audits, .especially in large organizations and business structures," Mammadov said in an interview to the Taxes newspaper.

E-audit will cover only major taxpayers, 98 percent of which present the tax declarations online. There are about 800 major taxpayers with their total number of 200,000 in Azerbaijan.

The ministry intends to evaluate the implementation of software (ACL, IDEA, SESAM) in Azerbaijan and explore the international experience in implementing "e-audit". Implementation of this process will be carried out by 2012.

During the year, it is expected to establish an information base to audit all types of economic activity in industries.
