A Japanese pharmaceutical company has registered a branch in Azerbaijan.
Astellas Pharma registered the branch via the Tax Ministry's "single window" system June 1.
Its founder is the Dutch Astellas Pharma Europe BV.
U.S. citizen Dejan Zhovanovich is the company's representative in Azerbaijan.
Astellas Pharma was established April 1, 2005 after the merger of the Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Company and Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Company.
Astellas develops medicines for various disorders and infectious diseases. Its priority areas are infectious diseases, diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, cancer and central nervous system disorders.
