Kazakh Railways increases goods turnover in first half-year by 13.6 percent

Kazakh Railways increased goods turnover in the first half-year by 13.6 percent to 101 billion ton-kilometers, JSC National Company Kazakhstan Temir Joly reported.

"The main indicator - goods turnover for the half-year amounted to over 101 billion ton-kilometers, which is 13.6 percent more than last year. The growth of transportation amounts was 16 percent. Export shipments increased by 25.3 percent, import - by 4.5 percent , domestic - by 11.6 percent. There has been an increase in passenger traffic by 6 percent," said in a press release.

According to the JSC, during the first half of the NC has achieved good financial results. Incomes of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Joly during this period increased by 20.6 percent compared to the same period in 2009. The company's costs were reduced by 5 percent compared to the plan. Net income received by the JSC for the six months exceeded the plan by 72.6 percent.

"International rating agency "Fitch Ratings"," Standard & Poor's" and "Moody's Investors Servis " assigned ratings to JSC" NC "KTZ" at BBB-, BB +, Baa3, respectively, and the forecast on ratings of the national company was confirmed at the level of "Stable"," said in the press release.
