Volume of deposits in the banking sector of Georgia reached 4.6 billion

Volume of deposits placed in the Georgian banking sector (including current accounts of the business and intraeconomic sectors, term deposits and unpaid interest) by December 1 2010 amounted to 4.6 billion lari ($ 1 = 1.77 lari), which by 11.4 million or 0.2% less than the rate on November 1 this year. In November, compared to previous month, current account reductions of the business and intraeconomic sectors occurred b 7.6 million lari, or 0.9%, and the growth of term deposits by 5.4 million lari, or 0.2%.

Volume of deposits placed in the Georgian banking sector (including current accounts of the business and intraeconomic sectors, term deposits and unpaid interest) by December 1 2010 amounted to 4.6 billion lari ($ 1 = 1.77 lari), which by 11.4 million or 0.2% less than the rate on November 1 this year. In November, compared to previous month, current account reductions of the business and intraeconomic  sectors occurred b 7.6 million lari, or 0.9%, and the growth of term deposits by 5.4 million lari, or 0.2%.

The coefficient of dollarization of deposits by December 1, 2010 amounted to 70.8% - by  2.79 percentage points less than on November 1

The weight-average interest rate paid on deposits was 7.8%, including deposits in national currency - 9.9%, and deposits in foreign currencies - 7.5%.

Share of the U.S. dollar was 71.4% in foreign currency deposit quantity, while the euro - 18.3%.
