From Feb. 1, the Taxes Ministry of Azerbaijan has begun the process of certification of taxpayers in order to clarify the database and inventory of taxpayers and businesses, Deputy Taxes Minister Shakhir Mammadkhanov said to a press conference.

"Activities will be conducted by the employees of the Ministry throughout the Republic through individual observation, oral questioning. The information received from taxpayers will also be involved. These data will be inserted in form of certification of the taxpayers," said Mamedkhanov.

According to him, based on certification, the data will be generalized with the local tax authorities and inserted in AVIS automated system, and then the process of inventory of data will begin.
"I want to emphasize that tax officials conducting the certification are not eligible to apply any measures such as fines and financial sanctions with regards to the taxpayers," he said.
"According to our expectations, this process will be completed by July 1 and the information obtained will be refined on the basis of accounting. We rely on support from the taxpayers in this process  for its effective and speedy conclusion," said the official.
