CBA develops several projects to improve financial literacy

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) is developing a concept of activity to carry out activities in the sphere of education in 2011, which is declared the "Year of Education in CBA", the director of the CBA Center for Research and Development Emin Huseynov said in Baku at a symposium on "Financial Literacy".
"It is envisaged to implement such projects as the "Virtual Central Bank", "e-Library" and "e-Institute for Banking" within the concept," Huseynov said.

According to him, the implementation of the concept is aimed at enlightening schoolchildren, students, wide public, as well as employees of the banking sector through workshops, discussions and roundtables.
"The "e-University" project means the use of resources on e-learning, the creation of e-library, online certification programs and the remote magistracy. The "Virtual Central Bank" will include a virtual tour guide, as well as the museum of CBA," he said.

The symposium is organized by the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan (ABA), the Azerbaijan Bank Training Center (ABTC) and the Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation with the support of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
