Professional standards in Azerbaijan brought in line with international norms

Within a social protection development project, jointly with the World Bank, the second meeting of a working group on preparing improved professional and training standards in accordance with the ISCO 88/08 norms was held at the Azerbaijani Labor and Social Protection Ministry. The event was attended by the relevant bodies and organizations.

Within a social protection development project, jointly with the World Bank, the second meeting of a working group on preparing improved professional and training standards in accordance with the ISCO 88/08 norms was held at the Azerbaijani Labor and Social Protection Ministry. The event was attended by the relevant bodies and organizations.

The meeting addressed the achievements on the project, the course of the preparations of standards, the conducting of the pilot testing of standards and procedures, the role of partners in the preparation of standards, market-based indicators and other issues.

The project envisages the development of 200 professional standards for different sectors, and 100-200 training standards for the evaluation of places of employment. Professional standards will develop in accordance with international standards in five sectors of the economy - construction, agriculture, tourism, industry and alternative energy.

The completion of the project is scheduled for 2013. The project consultant is the GOPA Consultants (Germany) international consulting company.
