Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev and UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Fikret Akcura signed an agreement on the third phase of a joint project with the UNDP today.
During the meeting with the UN delegation, Aliyev said the joint project with the UN to create a data transmission network and strengthen the State Customs Committee's potential has been implemented since January 1999. Its implementation successfully continues. He also spoke about the project's positive impact on creating an automated customs control system.
Aliyev stressed the role of cooperating with the UN in implementing the project to improve the customs services in Azerbaijan. He said a new draft of the customs code has been prepared.
Akcura said the main purpose of the project's new phase is to support the State Customs Committee in establishing the Trust Center under the General Air Transport Customs Administration.
