The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank group, held a three-day workshop for consulting companies operating in the sphere of food safety, the Corporation told Trend on Monday.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank group, held a three-day workshop for consulting companies operating in the sphere of food safety, the Corporation told Trend on Monday.
According to information, the workshop aims to improve the mechanisms of food safety management among Georgian companies, at the same time increasing their competition.

Workshops were held for 20 consultants of eight Georgian companies. They were familiarized with the basic program of the Global Food Safety Initiative.

"The Corporation's experts familiarized the consultants with a program that was created in accordance with the requirements of trading networks, put forward to food products suppliers. We are confident that this knowledge will help them work with suppliers to gradually reach the international food safety standards," the Corporation's food safety improving project manager Maya Tevzadze said.
