Turkey has invested about $17 billion in the construction sector of Turkmenistan, a member of the delegation of the Foreign Trade Council of Turkey Fuad Kasimdzhi told Trend.
"The Turkish building contractors have about 600 construction projects in Turkmenistan," Kasimdzhi told by telephone from Ankara.
The capital of Turkmenistan - Ashgabat on June 24 hosted a meeting of the delegation of the Foreign Trade Council of Turkey and representatives of the Turkmen government. The meeting focused on the services of Turkish contractors in the construction industry.
The two countries are also interested in the project on transporting Turkmen gas to Europe. A variant is considered to construct a natural gas pipeline across the Caspian Sea and its connection to the Nabucco project. In the future, the possibility is not excluded to transport natural fuels through Iran.
