Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 16 / Trend /

The 5th Anniversary International Education & Career Exhibition - the biggest event in the region in the field of educational services, occupational guidance and youth employment - will be held from 6-8 October in Baku, Azerbaijan's capital city. This year the exhibition will host over 100 educational institutions from 15 countries. The main emphasis will be on the higher education and language skills sectors, which are targeted at the 16-years plus audience.

Special attention will be paid to the Career section of the exhibition. The problems concerning employment and the recruitment of professional staff in Azerbaijan have not lost their validity. Conversely, while Azerbaijan's economy shows growth, it is becoming increasingly difficult to meet the demand for rare specialists, seasonal workers, etc. In this regard, the exhibition is an important recruitment tool for employers. Over the three days, the Education and Career exhibition will be visited by over 10,000 visitors. In addition, the exhibition offers the best conditions for real-time dialogue between leading employers and students and young professionals, and helps employers to objectively evaluate the resources of the labour market.

Today a significant percentage of the exhibitors in the Career section of the exhibition are employers in the hotel and tourism sector, which is currently being actively developed. The hotels and guest houses of global renown operating in Azerbaijan will be recruiting qualified individuals at the exhibition. 2011 has been declared The Year of Tourism in Azerbaijan by HE Mr Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, and this has provided additional impetus to the shining transformations in the nation's tourism industry.

There is currently a boom in hotel development taking place in Azerbaijan. Dozens of new hotels are being built and old ones are being refurbished and reconstructed. Six five-star hotels will be open in the capital city by the end of the year. In order to manage this modern hotel infrastructure, we need young professionals: managers, chefs, maintenance staff, etc. With this in mind, the Education and Career Exhibition will not just provide information about quality education, but will also be a real help to employers and job seekers in the hospitality and tourism industry. Thus, the exhibition will contribute to solving the problems of the modern market of youth employment.
