As of 2011, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Spain may reach $1 billion, Kazakh First Deputy Industry and New Technologies Minister Albert Rau said on Friday.
"Many joint projects implemented in Kazakhstan with the participation of Spanish companies contribute to this," he said.
Talgo, producing carriages, will be commissioned in late 2011. The agreement was signed between a Spanish company of the same name and the leadership of the Kazakh Temir Zholy national company.
The enterprise is planned to produce 100 passenger carriages a year. The project with the "Talgo" is tentatively estimated at $100 million.
