Azerbaijan and Egypt are working on establishing direct flights between the two countries, the Azerbaijani ambassador in Cairo, Shahin Abdullayev said in an interview with the Egyptian satellite channel Nile TV.
According to Abdullaev, bilateral political relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt are at a high level. The Ambassador stressed the need to strengthen economic ties and trade turnover between the two states, Azerbaijani Embassy in Egypt said Saturday in a press-release.
Abdullaev reminded that the two countries have recently started cooperating in the oil sector. He also pointed out the importance of promoting economic relations in other areas.
Regarding to cultural ties between the two countries, the ambassador noted that a part of cultural programs scheduled for 2011 was postponed due to the political events that took place in Egypt, but they will be certainly implemented in the coming years.
