More people enter Iran from Bilasuvar border check-point in 2011

Number of people crossing Bilasuvar border check-point in the direction of Iran, has increased by 70 percent over the past eight months, Director General of the Department of Transport and the Iranian province of Ardabil's terminals Ali Rahmati said, Iranian news agency İRNA reported.

According to Rahmati, 380,062 people have come to Iran across Bilasuvar border check-point over the past eight months compared to 223,595 people for the same period of 2010.

The number of those who left the country across Bilasuvar border check-point increased by 57 percent.

"As many as 380,062 people have come to Iran across Bilasuvar border check-point over the past eight months compared with 223,595 people for the same period of 2010," Rahmati said.

He also underlined the volume of import across border check-point dropped by 54 percent and export increased by 26 percent.

"The volume of import products made up 8,418 ton over the past eight months, last year - 18,442 ton. The volume of export products amounted to 82,408 tons, export made up 65,550 tons last year," Rahmati noted.
